Root fixing / tree binding

MilPlant

Trees may need help to stay standing until the roots are fully grown; this applies to tall trees in particular in relation to their root balls.

Recently planted trees cannot grow new roots if the root ball moves around. Tree supports ensure that root balls remain stable and can handle external influences.

Our products

DuckBill DTS is intended for binding trees above ground. DuckBill DTS system is developed to bind up larger trees with trunk diameters of over 10 cm. This system is used for trees that are replanted several times and which are too big to be bound with poles or by underground root affixing. The system is not permanent, but it provides the tree with effective support until the roots are sufficiently developed after planting.

DuckBill RBKS for underground root affixing is designed to offer reliable support for trees with solid root balls. The procedure is completely hidden underground. The root ball is efficiently affixed with three anchors and a quality-controlled harness which do not affect the visual appearance.

RBG system for underground root affixing in roof gardens. Roof gardens have limited substrate volume. This is why the tree with its root ball cannot be affixed with ordinary ground anchors.

The RBG procedure consists of a sturdy harness with a buckle system that is connected to a steel grid (not included) by using three loops on a steel wire. This creates a sturdy fixing for places where soil quantity is limited.

Underground tree supporting is usually a recommended method. Sometimes, however, supporting a tree above ground is the most affordable option. The size and location of the tree and the likelihood of damages caused by vandalism and wind must be taken into account.
